Cyclones Claim Series Opener Over Orlando, 4-2

ORLANDO, Florida – Four different Cincinnati players had multi-point efforts as the Cyclones (1-0 playoffs) knocked off the Orlando Solar Bears (0-1 playoffs) by a 4-2 final score in front of 4,609 at Amway Center on Thursday night. The victory gave the Cyclones a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

Cyclones Announce 2014 Kelly Cup Playoff Roster

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators announced today their 2014 Kelly Cup Playoff Roster.   Per ECHL rules, Playoff Rosters consist of a maximum of 23 Players – a 20-man active roster and a three-man reserve list. In addition, there are nine players who are playoff-eligible for Cincinnati, but are currently recalled to the American Hockey League.

Cyclones Announce First Round Promotional Schedule

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals promotional schedule.   As the five-seed, Cincinnati will host Games 3, 4, and (if necessary) 5 at U.S. Bank Arena. The opening face-off for all three contests is set for 7:30pm.

Lewis, Shaw, Megan, Madore Return from San Antonio

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that forwards Trevor Lewis, Wade Megan, Logan Shaw, and Rob Madorehave been assigned by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.   Lewis, a second-year pro, will embark on his second postseason with the Cyclones.

Cyclones Stifle Walleye in Regular Season Finale, 4-1

TOLEDO, Ohio – Taylor Aronson’s three-point night highlighted a 4-1 win for the Cincinnati Cyclones (41-24-4-4) over the Toledo Walleye (21-44-4-3) in front of 4,599 at Huntington Center on Sunday night.   Despite the Cyclones outshooting the Walleye 11-5 in the opening period, the teams went into the first intermission scoreless. Early in the second period, however, Cincinnati was able to finally cash in as Jonathan Hazen slammed home his team-leading 22nd goal of the season at 4:33.

Cyclones Alum Justin Johnson Makes NHL Debut

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Former Cincinnati Cyclones forward Justin Johnson became the 15th Cyclones alumnus to make his NHL debut when he played for the New York Islanders on Friday night.   Johnson, a 32-year-old Anchorage, Alaska native, logged 43 regular season games with the Cyclones during the 2008-09 season and posted 22 points (12g, 10a) along with a team-leading 208 penalty minutes. He also notched six tallies (2g, 4a) and 26 penalty minutes in 13 Kelly Cup Playoff tilts.

Nailers Blank Cyclones, 5-0

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Former Cyclone Christiaan Minella struck twice and Wheeling’s special teams units came through as the Nailers (39-27-1-5) defeated the Cyclones (40-23-4-4) by a 5-0 final score in front of 6,673 at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday’s Fan Appreciation Night. After topping the Nailers last night by a 6-3 margin, the Cyclones were shut out for only the fourth time this season and the third time by Wheeling.
