David MacDonald Returning to Cyclones in 2013-14

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman David MacDonald for the 2013-14 season.

MacDonald, a Baddeck, Nova Scotia native, will embark on his second full season of professional hockey this fall. A year ago, the rear guard amassed 21 points (7 goals, 14 assists) in 62 regular season games. He also contributed six tallies (1 goal, 5 assists) in 16 postseason contests. In addition to spending some time in the AHL with the San Antonio Rampage during training camp, MacDonald earned his first in-season call-up on March 7, 2013 – and went on to log four games with an assist while in a Rampage jersey. After completing Cincinnati’s postseason run, he was called upon to join the Providence Bruins in the Calder Cup playoffs.

“David was one of our top priorities to get back for next season,” said Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde. “He was a big part of our leadership group last year and continues to be one of the most stable defenseman in our locker room. We’re excited to have him with us again.”
