Taking care of business...

Last night in Fort Wayne, the Cyclones took care of some necessary busines...disposing of the Fort Wayne Komets to close out their season series. And while there's still plenty of work still to do...they added a strong buffer between them and their Hoosier State foes with the 3-1 win.
David Pacan, who continues to be a regular offensive contributor, struck again to give the Cyclones a 1-0 lead after Chris Reed found him with a pass at the 8:50 mark of period 1.
However, the Komets hung around thanks to a power play goal from defenseman Jamie Milam. His point blast in period two tied the score and made it a game of things heading into the final period.
But once again, the Cyclones third period offensive prowess took over. Josh Shalla, who already led the team with five game-winners, struck again after a turnover behind the net set up Jack MacLellan with a chance to dish. At the 5:58 mark of period three...Cincy took the lead for good at 2-1.
Another late penalty for the Cyclones forced the penalty kill to extinguish the final of six Komets power plays...and they did just that. In fact, during the waning seconds, Patrick Cehlin chased down a loose puck and buried an empty netter to seal the 3-1 win for the Clones.
Heading into Saturday night, the Cyclones sit in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference and are in position to chase down the Reading Royals for the top spot. Should be a great night in downtown Cincy!
