The Cyclones finished their three-game weekend with another win as they took down the Wheeling Nailers by a 4-2 count!  With the "W," they kept their buffer over Toledo at 7 points and came up with five points out of a possible six on the weekend.

It didn't take long for the Cyclones to pull out in front...as just 3:17 into the game, Mike Pelech picked up a rebound and slammed in the goal for a 1-0 lead.  With the goal, Pelech extended his point scoring streak to five games.

On the other end of the ice, Zoltan Hetenyi was solid, making nine saves to keep the Clones ahead through one.

Midway through the middle frame, Dan Eves sent a perfectly-placed low wrist shot that beat Darling underneath his pad - making it 2-0.  It was the 12th time this season that Cincinnati scored the first two goals of the game.

The Nailers finally ended Hetenyi's shutout streak as Chris Barton potted a rebound after a tremendous save from the Cincinnati netminder - pulling the home team within one at the 10:46 mark of the third period.

But that would be as close as Wheeling would get the rest of the night.  Just 22 seconds after Barton made it 2-1, Matt Smyth caught a pass from Trevor Lewis and buried his first ECHL goal...it was 3-1 Cyclones

Then, the Cincinnati power play came up with the dagger...as captain Mathieu Aubin one-timed a goal from the left circle past Darling to make it a 4-1 game at 17:11.

With less than three mintues left, Zack Torquato lit the lamp one last time on a wrist shot from the point - which sealed a final score of 4-2 Cincinnati.

What is perhaps most impressive about this win is the fact that it's the second time this year they've knocked off the Nailers at WesBanco Arena...a team that has only lost 4 games at home all year.  I'll take it!

Next up...Toledo on Thursday.  A battle of the top two North Division teams!  See you at U.S. Bank Arena!
